Temple “St. Onufrio, Damascene and All the Martyrs of Gabrovo”

Construction work on the new temple began in 2016, with the laying of the foundation and the construction of the basement, which includes service rooms and a crypt.

With a strong fundraising campaign in 2017, funds were raised for the construction process until the roof was completed /in September of that year, a decision of the Council of Ministers, at a key stage of the construction, allocated 180,000 BGN, which was used to complete the rough construction up to the roof/.

The need for more donations for the continuation of the finishing works was the reason for the campaign initiated by the Gabrovo Municipality “TO BE the new temple of Gabrovo”. It ended in 2018, after the decision of the Bulgarian government to allocate another 315 000 BGN for the finishing works of the newly built temple.

To date, the temple has been fully completed and interior furnished. On its second floor there are premises for a Sunday school and a library. Gabrovo Municipality has carried out the improvement of the space in the area of the building.
